Occupational Health issues - Work load, bullying, harassment, redundancy are all factors that impact people in the workplace leading to feelings of stress, anxiety, low mood or helplessness.
Relationship Problems - Learning to understand the dynamics of our relationships, whether with a partner, child, friend or work colleague can help in improving communication and lead to more satisfying and fulfilling connections with people. (Couples Counselling also available)
Depression and Anxiety - 1 in 4 people are likely to struggle with a mental health problem at some point in their lives and depression and anxiety will make up a significant number of these. Psychotherapy or counselling can support recovery whether medication is needed or not giving a space to explore the negative thinking cycles that impact on our mood, body sensations and behaviours.
Panic Attacks - Some people have the frightening experience of Panic Attacks which can cause breathing difficulties, a racing heart and feelings of wanting to escape. Counselling and where appropriate EMDR can help us to identify triggers and to find coping tools to manage symptoms.
Loss & Bereavement - Grieving is a something that everyone goes through at some point in their lives whether it be for a loved one, a pet or a job. Grief feelings can range from denial, desolation, sadness to anger or even relief. No two grief processes are the same and having a space to talk with someone who is not connected to the loss can be helpful in supporting a healthy grieving process.
Trauma and Abuse (childhood and adult) - People who have experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse often struggle with a wide range of symptoms such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, addictions, dissociation and relationship problems. Psychotherapy and where appropriate EMDR can help us understand what has happened, the impact it has had on us and to regain a sense of control and trust in ourselves and others.
